Bernina Sewing Club

Our popular Bernina Sewing Club is growing in strength - even during the summer holidays we are seeing enthusiastic Bernina owners at our meetings.

Anne Blakey will be here on Wednesday 18th August 10.
Come along to our studios at 11 Henrietta Street, Cheltenham at 10:00 am to meet Anne and be inspired by the sewing she will show you. We will finish about 1:00 pm.

Entrance fee to attend the meeting is £5.00 with free tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

All Bernina owners are welcome- just come along and enjoy!

Overlock workshops - the basics.

Your overlocker can help you to manage difficult fabrics and achieve professional looking results on your sewing projects; this workshop is designed to get you on the way to those results. Hints, tips, threading up, and basic skills are included.

You will be learning on your own machine so bring this, including accessories and your instruction book, with you.

We will supply the fabrics free of charge.

Get to know your Sewing machine

Learn basic operating procedures, hints, tips, trouble shooting, cleaning and basic skills including buttonholes, sewing in zips, blind hems and twin needle sewing.
Bring your sewing machine (with the instruction book if you have it), a zip and basic sewing kit.
This is an excellent foundation course which can lead on to the development of more specialised sewing skills.

Bernina Model 440 and the BSR

This is a two session workshop (morning and afternoon) on getting the very best from the very popular high quality Bernina Aurora including use of the BSR.
Bring along your own machine and accessories including instruction manual.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but there will be a lunchbreak so do bring along a snack to eat then.

Go beyond the Basics and Buttonholes.
We will show you how to use your machine to its full potential and help you harness the creative options on your Bernina 440.
During the class you will be creative with many of the 124 decorative stitches, and the 32 specialised quilting stitches, learn all about the memory, understand many of the wonderful functions on your machine, including Sewing without the foot, Using the Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR), Alphabets, Eyelets, Knee Lift.
You will use all the feet and learn how their functions will improve and enhance your sewing making it a joy create and sew, whatever your project may be. We will show you blind hemming, patchwork, quilting, free-motion sewing, and much more.

Introduction to patchwork

An easy foundation workshop introducing the skills, techniques and materials used in the ever popular patchwork and quilting crafts.

You will be using your own machine so bring this, including accessories and your instruction book, with you.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but there will be a lunchbreak so do bring along a snack to eat then.
